During my undergraduate tenure, I was the vice-captain and design head of the UAV team that designed and fabricated autonomous U.A.Vs for civilian and defense purposes.
One noteworthy project that we worked on was for the Indian Maritime Foundation, a unit of the Indian Navy. We build an autonomous UAV prototype comprising a semi-composite structure with carbon fiber and a balsa sandwich for certain integrations and a fuselage made of carbon fiber monocoque. The culmination of this 12-month work was a successful demonstration to the mentioned organization that paved way for funding future projects.
